Hi friends,

Have you ever lost something and just went crazy thinking about where could it be?  Maybe you’ve even torn the house or your car apart, frantically searching high and low, sweating about how the impact of the lost item will cause heartache, frustration and perhaps wasted time to replace it, if that's even possible. Let me put that into terms some of you can certainly understand – imagine losing your smartphone or your wedding ring or even how about your child at Disney World (been there, but that’s another story for another day).  Yeah, I’m talking about that feeling.

When I reflect on the last supper leading into the day of Jesus’s crucifixion I feel like the disciples had that feeling multiplied exponentially. Jesus was more than the Messiah to them, He was their teacher and best friend. The disciples didn't know at the time this was their last meal with Jesus. For them it was a feast celebrating the Passover with him after they had triumphantly paraded into Jerusalem with the crowds cheering his name "Jesus, Jesus!". It was like they just won the Super Bowl & this was their Disney moment. Then the world exploded - Jesus was taken hostage, ripped from their presence, tortured, mocked & crucified...they had lost Him!

Now back to the lost item scenario, think about how you might feel if you found that lost item? You might even have given up looking (not talking about the child at Disney World), but then all of a sudden there it was! The sigh of relief, the excitement, it may even feel like your best day ever!  Imagine how much more the disciples felt when Jesus was alive, and not just alive, but resurrected just as He said!  This year, let’s experience that relief, that excitement and that joy, and celebrate Easter as His disciples, knowing that the resurrected King Jesus is alive forevermore - because of this we can live truly alive as well!  Woohoo!!!

DEFINITELY THE BEST DAY EVER!
